computer restarts in middle of running an application

hi i am having bit of prob with my pc. i have an intel E6750 core 2 duo 2.66ghz with 1 gb ram and Intel dg33 board.
1)when i switch on my computer (cold boot) it hangs up the keyboard and mouse on pressing any key. but works fine after restart
2)When ever I run any heavy application like photoshop, or any game computer restarts.please help.
 
What are your temps? How long has it been doing it? Any power issues with the PSU or other problems with the MoBo in the past?
 
Dont really get what you mean (on a cold start the keyboard & mouse hangs up). Does that mean it boots into windows but the keyboard & mouse doesnt work and you have to restart or it just stops during the bios screen (never makes it to windows and freezes at the bios)?

If it freezing at the bios on a cold start and restarting under load, kinda sounds like a weak P/S
