computer running bad

i built my cousin a computer about 3 months ago .. it runs a 3.0ghz p4 proccessor with 1gb of ram n 200gb hard drive n he sais that its been running really really slow n my comps running about the same things n ive never had a problem with it being slow , also hes never used this computer with the internet he jus edits little videos on it.. tell me everything possible that could make it run slow .. he did a system restore too
 
first thought is spyware, but you say he has not been on the internet so thats doubtful. Still i think that running through the anti spyware and antivirus procedures is the best starting point. Start a new thread in the security section and follow bytemans sticky at the top (within that section)

Of that doesnt solve it, try to download the latest versions off all your drivers, and i include your motherboards chipset drivers. If that doesnt work then post back
