Hey everyone, I have a bit of an issue with my computer, for some reason I can't see NTSC files on my ext. hard drive.

The reason this is a problem is that I have just downloaded Hanna, and the copy is a blueray version which is over 4gb. The FAT32 system can't transfer files over 4gb in size, so I need to change to NTSC, but I don't know how to get my computer to do it.

I'm running windows 7 home premium if that makes any difference. Will I have to reformat my hard drive, and if so, will I lose my data? Also if I don't lose the data, after I mess with my computer will I be able to read both NTSC and FAT32?

Thanks in advance!

Windows 7 reads and writes both NTFS and FAT32 just fine, there's nothing you need to do to "turn them on" or anything. And yes, if you format (even quick format), you do lose all data on the disc.

I don't think Windows comes with a tool to convert volumes to NTFS and I can't name a tool off the top of my head, so unless someone else can suggest one I recommend you copy all your data to another disc/drive and re-format it as NTFS. You should do this anyway even if you use a tool that can do a conversion without reformat, just in case something goes wrong.

Thanks for the help everyone, seems a bit too complicated for me. I have decided not to reformat the external hard drive anyway, because I have found out that PS3 can't read NTFS, and I was wanting to play a movie on my console.

Thanks :)

if you want to play movies on your ps3, you can set up a media server. I do it for mine though wifi can sometimes be a pain in the @$$.

You can download divx.It has the ability to convert just about any movie file to work specifically on ps3 when burning to a dvd.Since it is a 4gb file it might work still on a regular dvd.Make sure you put a email in at end of install. When you have it installed, you might have to register your ps3 in the devices section of divx
I know you said nevermind about the NTFS conversion, but if you ever need to I think you can make a 2nd partition & format it to NTFS.And it will keep the original partition of what you have in FAT32 still I believe.Never done it before but I am almost sure I read about it somewhere on a forum.
