Computer says no. . . It wont do anything!

My PC has recently stopped working as it usually does, and on startup, a service called SPBBCSvc.EXE starts up. It gradually consumes all available RAM and HDD space, shutting down Windows and over writing files if nessecary. I have many antivirus programs installed, so I am guessing it cannot be a virus.

Has anyone encountered this problem before, or does anyone have a suggestion. By the way, I am using an Acer TravelMate 2492Wlmi. I have never had this problem before. Thanks in advance.

It's part of the Symantec internet security suite. Do you have Norton Internet Security or AntiVirus by any chance, or have you had in the past?

If you do then I suggest you uninstall it (good luck with that) and choose another security suite such as Avast.

Heh, I see the issue, all your AV programs are conflicting and when this happens Norton will become a big resource hog, look at only having one AV program.

Ok, thanks very much for all your help everyone. I suppose it could be a confliction problem seeing as I have Avast AntiVirus, AVG Free Edition, Norton Antivirus (well, I did), McAfee Personal Firewall Plus, Symantec Internet Security Suite and a couple of others I can't remember. Now I have removed Norton Antivirus, the PC works fine, so thanks for everything you've posted, my problems are now sorted.
