hi, on my windows 98 when i turn on my computer my screen is black... my little brother went to device manager (i think) and deleted something and now windows 98 is BLANK!!! i cant do anything!!! i can access anything!!! nothing shows.. my moniter doesnt even respond!!! is there a solution?!!
 
Did you check Your PSU, if its set on 220 instede of 115. you woll not get any picture... unless of corse your pluged in some where that gives out 220...

does the computer start up in safe mode. if thats the case he might have deleted a folder that contains your video drivers.
 
Can you see the bios or the boot up? If you can't see that then its not a driver or windows problem. I would trying 2 things. Reseat the video card and if its pci try it in a different slot, and/or try another psu. if you can't see the bios thats not a windows driver thing, Its a card/slot/power thing...

No, my computer doesnt start up in safe mode. when i turn my comptuer on my moniter desont even respond.

I dont think anything is wrong w/ the psu because i never opened my computer b4

I lost my windows 98 disc like 5 years ago
 
Sounds like one of three things to me.

1) a Bad PSU
2) bad slot
3) bad card


I have reason to beleave that it's one of those three things. Happy computing :)
 
open up your computer and try reseating the video card. i am guessing either a monitor or video card problem as of right now.
