Wireless dongle/ usb modem issues on windows 7

Windows 7 unlike any prior OS releases from microsoft automatically scans and tries to update any device you plug on your machine. what i suggest you do is to leave an active internet connection using your LAN and plug_in your dongle, let it upate then it will pickup the device connected after that your can install the hardware enabling software that came with it. these should solve your problem and goes the same for 3G modems
