Computer slow to load

Earlier in the week I formatted my C drive and reinstalled Windows XP. At first the computer had been booting and loading quickly. Every time I turn it on now, it seems to take longer and longer for it to load. Does anyone know why this might be happening?
 
Besides Windows what else did you reinstall? New startups! Did you defrag the hard drive once everything was back on? When you notice a lag right after reinstalling something previously used the msconfig utility can come in handy for disabling anything non essential to see if something did see a bad install the second time around.
 
Hi, I did install a large program after reinstalling windows. I've reinstalled that program and run the defragmenter on the the C drive. We'll see if that does it.

Hopefully it will only be the one program there. Recently when reinstalling and reconfiguring XP there were a pair of bad installs of Windows itself.

One was a problem with Net framework not being able to go on whiile the other saw controllers unavailable. A repair install worked but I still went for wiping the primary and seeing a new one created for a fresh install all over again.
