Here is my problem.... My computer runs smooth for like a week and then it becomes very slow and i cant do any thing on it. I have to shut it off for a couple hours and start over again. Does it have to do with my board/ hard drive or is something else? please help with my diagnosis. Also i think something is wrong with my sound card but not sure. After a day or so my sound becomes crackled and cant listen to music or anything its just really annoying.... any ideas?????

Thanks Mike

i have never herd of this problem before.... meybe because your computer is overheating, or it might be because of a virus or spyware. or try doing error-checking

How to do error-checking
1.open my computer
2. right click the drive your main drive(drive where your operating system is installed)
3. click the tools tab
4. click error checking
5. restart your computer and dont press anything your computer will say "press any button to skip disk error checking," dont press anything and wait for it to finish.

get a hold of MHDD, its in UBCD. run it by selecting the # of the HDD then hit F4 a bounch of times untill it starts the scan. a bad harddrive will slow the system down.

run memtest86+ to check your ram. it should be on the UBCD. iirc

Open the case and look at the tops of the capacitors. make sure they dont look like this http://www.badcaps.net/images/caps/kt7/image004.png. make sure all the fans are running and the CPU fan/heatsink are clean.

If you can find a local computer repair store ask if you can bring your computer in and have them test the PSU for free. we do it.

I had a similar program on an older P4. Virus scan / Adaware / and cleaning up the hard drive did the trick. I was using in the high 90%'s using my HDD space. I ended up fixing it by used treesize to ID and clean out a bunch of garbage on my drive from 4-5 years of use.

Followed things up with a Defrag and everythign was fine after that.
