Computer suddenly slow - urgent!

Hello! :)
I just moved my PC over to a friends house, only to realize that I couldn't play any games because of the horrible FPS.
I have defragged, searched for viruses and checked the temp. Which didn't seem too high for an i5 2500K (?), I used "SpeedFan" to find the temp. The usage of the CPU jumps from 30-60% in game and around 0-10% idle, depending on what I do.
Even the main menu of "Counterstrike: Global Offensive" the mouse cursor was moving slowly. The FPS in League of Legends was 30 FPS, and I usually have around 200.

The HDD might be the problem. It isn't making weird noises and there aren't anything physically ruined on it as far as I can tell.
My SSD is not the problem either, as the startup time is 20 sec approx.

The last thing I did was re-installing the ram bricks, but there was no change.

The computer is neither in power saving mode or anything similar to that.

I have no clue what the problem might be, but can it be that something has happened to the components while I moved it?

Appreciate all the help I can get, as this LAN might get pretty boring unless there is a quick fox to this issue! :)

PS: English isn't my mother tongue so there might be a lot of typos :)

Probably just a loose piece of hardware. Might want to remove and reinsert video card, memory sticks. Make sure all power and data cords are securely attached to each device.

You moved your PC so have you looked inside the case? I'm thinking your CPU HSF came loose and it's throttling down to prevent overheating.

Ok, you were in your case so you looked at the HSF on the CPU?

I had a similar problem with my GPU and CPU fan took the out completely and put the back in. What you can do is start up your system and take of the side panel to look inside to see whats going on, that's how i figured out my CPU fan problem.

I have the same CPU btw :D

Well I checked inside the case, but I didn't see anything weird or anything that looked broken or loose etc as loose cables and so on :)
I'll check the HSF, now that I know what to look for!
I'm on a LAN by a friends house, so I have no possibility to take the hardware out etc.

The CPU is 40 degrees C, and was 50 degrees C half an hour ago, so I suspect it has something to do with the CPU. I'll peek into the case again and see what I can find out!

I checked the HSF, and it is not loose, no cables are loose, and the fan haven't stopped working or anything. Everything looks like it's perfectly fine.
NO parts in the PC are loose as far as I can tell, and by now I have spent a few mins poking around without seeing any abnormalities :)

Still no solution though. As I have shitty FPS in all games I have tried so far.
Something is wrong.

Were you using his monitor on your PC? I don't know if there's such thing as a slow monitor.

I compared my idle heat from my CPU to some others, and its basically identical. So my CPU isn't running too hot, and therefore I have no clue what might be wrong. I guess HDD or GPU? Maybe even the Mobo? (Updated the drivers for my Mobo btw :)

Well I will be able to find out when I get home from this LAN. :)
I have no clue what might be the problem, but I'm leaning towards the GPU and PSU.
I can't find out how hot my GPU is running with programs such as GPU-Z either, so it MIGHT be the problem.
Still curious to whether or not it will be fixed when I get home, or be just as bad.

I had trouble with my videos on my windows 7 computer they "stuttered" when panning.

The problem was the monitor like most was working on 60 hertz, looking at my TV it worked on 50 hertz and perfect videos. So reduced my monitor to 50 hertz and problem solved. I have an MSI video card in the computer and a Dell IPS monitor which enabled me to reduce the hertz

Well the thing is that my FPS is really bad in games, and that is as far as I know not possible due to the monitor?
There is a FPS counter in-game telling me I have ex; 43 FPS, when I am used to be having somewhere around 200. :)

Edit; Poked around in the monitor menus, but I can't find an option to change the hertz :/

Reinstall windows and see if that helps. If not its hardware. At that point we can systematically take you through the process of determining what is wrong.

Thanks for the answer :)

When I got back from the LAN and tried to play the game again, the game worked perfectly.
I suspect the PSU bottlenecked the system when I was over at my friends house for some reason. (Maybe because of the outlets I used or something?)

So this problem is solved :)

That is an unusual situation indeed. My guess is that everyone is running their PCs off one socket.
