Hi, I am trying to figure out to hook up my computer to my big screen TV (in order to use the TV as my monitor). First off, I'm not very smart when it comes to computer related stuff, so please be very basic with your responses. I don't need anything with high graphics or quality. All I need to be able to do is surf the net from my TV. I am looking for the CHEAPEST possible way to do this, along with HOW. All I know is that I need a graphics card. My computer is a Sony Vio, which is model PCV-RX540. It is about 4 years old, and everything is stock. I don't believe I have any graphics card now. My TV ins a JVC high definition TV (if that matters). Can someone please help. THanks

You will need a graphics card with an s-video output, something like this
(i have this graphics card and it has an s-video output and the cable)

Your TV should have 3 round sockets on it somewhere coloured red white and yellow. You can plug the yellow phono output plug in there (and if you wanted to you can buy another cable to get the audio out from your tv aswell).

If you dont have these plugs then you can buy a scart converter(see pic below), with this you can plug it into the scart input on your TV and then plug the yellow phono in to that.
