hey guys, i am fixing a computer for a friend, and i am either totally overlooking something, or there is something strangely wrong. it was working fine the other day, then 2 days ago they said it just "wouldnt come on". well when i got it, i push the button to turn it on and sure enough, nothing.
well the first thing i did was check everything. i noticed the LED on the motherboard was lighting up, but the switch just wasnt turning the PC on. so i thought maybe its just the power supply. well i replaced it, and the exact same thing.
the power supply is a ATX P4 300w power supply. i checked the polarity of the switch with my meter and it is good. i am getting the voltage to the board, but its not coming on! is it possible that some capacitors went out? or something else? and something else to add to the headache, its an emachines PC(pieceacrap) from walmart. i didnt buy it, so dont bash me for it. ideas??
