Hi all, my computer will not boot into normal mode. It will boot into safe mode. It does POST. It does NOT show windows splash screen.
Now that we have that out of the way i'll tell you some details
I was surfing the internet a few days ago (checking forums etc) and then started to play online games. When i stopped i thought i'd check said forums again and it would not let me look at any internet sites. It said something like "This page cannot be displayed" or something along the lines of that. I thought i should restart my PC to see if it would fix anything, and it would not boot windows. It froze before the splash screen showing a black screen until i rebooted. I then put my windows XP disk into the drive and said "repair windows xp". After it finished it would no longer freeze before the splash screen, but it would restart. During the repair it said it could not copy over per_seg3.swf or per_seg5.swf.

Just reinstalled windows, installed drivers, activated windows, restarted and it would not let me explore internet sites. I then restarted again and it freezes at the black screen.
I have come to the conclusion that this is a hard drive failure. Am i right to assume this?
