Computer won't boot up

My girlfriend's computer stopped working this morning. She had left it on overnight and when she went to use it this morning she said that the screen was dark blue with nothing else on it, her optical mouse wasn't lit up at all, and that the power button and other lights on the actual tower were very dimly lit.

She turned it off and then back on again. It doesn't beep anymore, and nothing shows up on the screen at all except for black with a white cursor/dot flashing in the top left corner.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be? I've never heard of anything like this before. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Sounds to me like the HDD crashed. If it even boots, that proves the PSU ain't shot :rolleyes:.

He's talking about dim lights and a flashing cursor, your first thought should be a power issue. It's not about studying, its about common sense.
