hello, this is my second build and I've tried almost everything I can think of....
the specificis

mb: DFI LANPARTY DK X38-T2RB LGA 775 Intel X38
Vid: VGA 512-P3-N978-AR GeForce 9800 GT AKIMBO 512MB 256-bit GDDR3
memory: 8gb corsair pc2 6400 dual channel kit
cpu: E6600 2.40 GHz 1066
hd's: 1x 72gb 10000rpm raptor
2x 500gb seagates
ps: bfg gs atx12v2.2

this is the new p/s, my old one was grounded, but problem still exists, I can't even get the motherboard to post, swapped out video card for another older one I had as a spare and no luck. any help would be greatly appreciated,

thank you

Did you put all the standoffs under the board in the right places? Did you plug in the 8 pin CPU power connector?

try and get your hands on some generic ram and insert that.
then update your bios.

dfi boards are pretty picky when it comes to memory.
had a hard time getting mine up and running to.

yea, the cpu and case fans start spinning but no output not even posting yet, haven't tried the generic ram yet, but I'm running corsair

Do you hear any beeps? Is it possible the video card isn't properly seated? Or the RAM too for that matter - did you make sure everything 'snapped' into place.

Aside from that, check every connection twice, then check them all again. More times than not, it's just something overlooked.

try this

Look in the manual and see if the particular memory is on the approved list.

If it is,

Take the memory out.

Put one stick back in.

Try the computer.

If it fails, swap for another stick etc.

If it fails again, try a different slot.

2. Find an old PCI video card, remove your PCIe card.
Try it with the lessor card.
Also, try the different PCIe slot.

If all that fails,
Carefully remove the CPU.
Look at the pins it rests on. Are any crooked or out of place?
Is there any paste on any of them etc.?
If there is are then you can't very well RMA, but if it looks good, RMA the board.

Hope it is a simple solution. B.
