Computer won't recognize internal or external DVD drive.

It started with not recognizing the internal DVD drive. Now it does not recognize external DVD drive.

Computer makes a sound when I attach external DVD to USB, but it never shows up. I tried multiple drives, same thing. External HDD and SDD work fine via same USB connections. Any ideas?

Thanks

Post a screenshot of the device manager please. Sometimes it's a registry error that causes the internal cd drive to not be seen. As far as the USB one goes, smoother usb devices get detected? Chances are it is a registry issue since both drives dont appear.

For external USB drives, I've been messed up in the past because there was a drive letter assigned to that drive that is already in use. I would get the USB connect chime but the drive wouldn't show up in Explorer. Assigned a different drive letter to it and then it showed up.
