I recently bought a 9800gtx + to replace my BFG 7900GTX in my computer. To prepare for this, I recently bought a 1000w Corsair Modular power Supply for a future SLI setup (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139007). After I installed it and plugged in two PCI Express connectors, the computer will start up but the monitor stays black. I also hear a 3 second beeping sound from the motherboard which I think isn't good. Any suggestions?

its hard to tell if its your psu or your gpu. its probably your gpu though, if the rest of your computer is running fine, but the 3 beeps could mean the psu for all i know. you did plug the 6 pin power connectors to your 9800gtx right?

yes I did, and when it happened I put back my 7900gtx and it worked fine. Do you think it could have something to do with my PSU since it's drawing power from two 6 pin connectors instead of just one?

tried that, still same problem. Im pretty sure it couldnt be the PSU since its 1000w. It's probably just the card.

its the card. send it back and get a new one. this kind of stuff happens frequently with any computer parts when shipping or rough handling.

Try the new PSU with your old graphics card. If it works, you know it's the card.
