Hi there, thanks for your help in advance!

First here is some background on the computer
1. Foxconn 955X7AA motherboard
2. Pentium D processor
3. 2 GB of XMS Corsair DDR2 Ram
4. Western Digital WD740GD Hard Ddrive
5. Sapphire RADEON X850 XT Video Card
6. 500 Watt ULTRA Xconnect power supply

Here is the story....i left for vacation for about a week came home ...went to turn on my computer and it will not turn on...AT ALL....
Here is what i can see it doing so maybe some of you knowledgeable folks can suggest what could be the problem: I can see the fan on the CPU attempt to spin for about a second or two when i push the power button and then it goes completely dead...it's as if it is trying to start but cannot. This does not happen again until i unplug the computer from the socket and push the button again at which point when i push the power button the exact same thing will happen where the CPU fan will attempt to spin for a second or so and then die.

What do you guys thing is most likely the issue.

I was told by a friend that it is either the Power Supply or Motherboard.

What do you guys think / suggest.

Thanks!

Which cable are you reffering to when you say it's loose, It's not the I to O...i tried that one before posting...and what is PSU?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

psu=power supply unit , there is a 4 pin plug on the mobo near the cpu check its pluged in and also check the wire coming from the cpu fan, if they are ok try a diffrent psu.

Check all the connectors inside, maybe unplug/plug back up. If it don't work i would say the psu is dead. You could go to circuit city, comp usa, or best buy and purchase a cheap psu to test it to see if thats the problem. If it is you could either return it for a higher quality unit or just keep it.
