Computer Wont Start Up

Ok I just built a brand new computer and everything was finally running good till I plugged headphones into the jack on top of the computer. The computer immediately shut down. It came back on no problems but like an idiot I tried once more and it did the same thing but this time it will not power on. My motherboard has a light that stays on even when the computer isn't running and it's coming on so I'm guessing it's getting power but when I press the power button I get nothing. I had the headphone jack plugged into the Front Audio connection (FP Audio connection) on the motherboard. I'm guessing now that this is not correct. What do you guys suppose the problem is? If something is screwed up, I ordered everything from NewEgg.com. What sort of return policies would they have?

Thanks
