computer wont start up

hi, my mom has a new computer that she has been using for a few months. Usually when she turns it on the fan is loud for two seconds, then the computer is quiet as it starts up. But tonight when she turned it on after it had been acting weird today the fan is loud and wont get quiet, and the computer won't start. It is a gateway windows computer. If you could tell us something we would be very thankful.

i would open it up and check all the plugs are plugged in good
and make sure the memory cards are seated good

does the screen that says gateway come up? If so, does it get past that screen?

I would think something came loose somehow.

Just check the connections.(In the case)
