I was listening to music and not doing anything else on my computer. I walked into my kitchen and I noticed the music stopped playing. When I walked in the computer was off. So I hit the power button, nothing happened. I checked the cords and everything was fine.
So I thought it may have over heated somehow and wont turn on because the sensors are still detecting an overheating problem. It never has over heated before and I only thought this because 1) I opened the case and parts were semi hot and 2) when I hit the power button the LED lights on the fan will flash for a split second and nothing else will happen (so the system was powered it just wont turn on completely and stay on).
Well after waiting 7 hours (I went to sleep) I tried to turn it on and same thing happened. LED's flashed and nothing else. So I got worried because I have never seen a problem like this in my life. No computer viruses, no over heating, no nothing. I know there were no viruses because I turned off my internet service before even receiving this new PC and all I got on there are pictures, MP3's and a couple games. All were scanned with the latest AVG free definitions (downloaded off my old PC because I wanted virus protection installed unless backup files had an infection. My old PC didn't have a virus but wanted to be sure.)
So I need some help with this one. I tried opening the case and letting things cool down for many hours. I removed my video capture card (only thing I added/changed in the system). I reset the power on the power supply. I unhooked everything from the PC but the monitor, keyboard and mouse. I then unhooked those too so it was just the tower.
Even after all that same problem, LED's flash showing power is in fact there but it fails to boot even in the smallest amount.
The only thing I can guess is the CPU faild and the computer just shuts off after 1/10th of a second as nothing can process.
Luckily everything is under warranty and I can get it replaced but if anyone can suggest a possible fix without having to pay money to ship back and wait for a new PC I will be glad to listen. I do have computer experience I just never seen this problem before.
