Hi I am in need of help. I have just turned on my pc and it made a pop sound then won't turn on. I need to know where the fault might be. The pop came from the ccomputer not the plug so the fuse has not blown in the plug. The computer is a IBM 733 mhz running windows xp.
Thanks.

The only way is too get hold of a power supply and plug it into your pc, making sure all the periphials etc are connected and see if it powers up.

OK ta, I have an old computer I can use the power pack from, do you know if the power supplies (transformers) on all computers are all the same and are the connectors the same?

I have tried a power supply unit from another pc (they were the same voltage and connectors) and that worked so you were right my pc power supply has blown. Can this be fixed or is it a new one?. I bought the computer from ebay and have had it only 6 days . I have been in touch with seller but no reply as of yet. thanks
Linda
