Have you recently made any software changes like installing a new program? Sometimes a new software will create startups that will bog things down a little. At other times things are left in the system registry after removing a program that still try loading things not there. Start a new thread in the security section as advised and run a few antivirus and spyware removers in the meantime to see if anything is found.
