Computers Video Slow?

Hi Guys,
I am having this problem for last 6 months or so, afetr i used system restore.The problem is that the videos played on my computer keep on stooping after 5 mins(work fine for 2-3mins and then stop as if there is an glitch and start again) its annoying.I know Ram or the hd is nt the rpoblem since i have 200gigs(7200rpm) and 736 ram.Other specifications......
1.3 ghz cpu
Amd athlon processor
i dont know how to check which video card(sorry) but i know its 32mb.
 
It may not be any of thos problems, it could be a codec problem. Have you tried upgrading the media player that you're using? Also, if you used other players, will it stiil give you the same problems? on large files and small files?
 
I had a video card that was slowly dying that would cause slow video playback...that could be something to look into...

But first, I'd check drivers(video and DirectX) Also, what type of video causes the problem? AVI, MPEG, DVDs, WMVs, what...?
