I am not a hardware guy, but what's to stop a person from configuring a motherboard to hook up to another to form formidable computer. Would you have to know circuitry, etc.? I imagine this is the case. I just don't really know why that's not a possibility and curious.

One of the worlds fastest Super Computers is actually about 1000 normal Desktop Computers hooked together.

The motherboards are not actually wired together, but the computers are networked, and each Computer is assigned a a small task of the whole network.
