Because of the lay out of my house I have my router in one extreme end but often need to use my laptop at the other. The signal does not reach, and so I have Netgear's wirless action points through powerline adapters (WGX-102).
I know that to do this "seamlessly" I should set the SSIDs of each device to be the same with the same encryption for both the wireless router and any WAPs, but what should I do for channels? Should the devices be on the same channel, which may cause interference? Or should they be on different channels, and would that require the laptop to "reconnect" and maybe even require a new IP address as I move around the house?
