Confused about drive

I will be building a new computer for my first time and am in the process of getting stuff for it.
My current computer has two drives: a DVD-ROM drive and a CD rewritable drive. Do I need two different drives to play CD/DVD games or music and burn to a CD/DVD? If you buy a DVD burner it will play and burn both dvd's and cd's.
And any burner thats either ide or sata ought to work with that motherboard.
If you live in the U.S. take a look around www.newegg.com they have tons of them on there.

That board can use either IDE or Sata drives and like said above a DVD/RW will play and burn both CD and DVD.
