Confused & need some help

I recently purchased a Xiaomi Wifi router 3 so I could have WiFi access in my room for my htpc, phone & laptop. (Currently broadcasting it's own signal, I have yet to configure it into an access point). But anyway, after using it for about a week or so, I had my eBay account hacked (purchased some goods to be sent to his address in Russia!). I'm confused as to how this happened. I don't click on clickbait (gotta love adblock ), I avoid all of those phishing emails, only I have access to my devices (as far as I know!). My theory is that maybe, I was sold a dodgy unit with flashed firmware or something similar to that, or could it possibly be that the hacker just somehow, luckily guessed my email address/seller name & email?

Where did you purchase this router from? I would just suspect your ebay account was hacked and nothing to do with the router.

Just for the hell of it, scan your computer with Herdprotect.

Of course change your ebay password. But do this on another computer or after you make sure you have no malware.
