connect a pc to a tv

hi everybody I'm not sure if this is the right place for my question anyway I would like to know how should I connect my pc to my tv to watch a movie directly from the computer I have a s-video output on my pc.thanks
 
OK great question..i am actually doing this with my tv in my room tomorow so here is how u do it...as u have mentioned u already have an S-video output in ur comp (videocard) so all you have to do is make sure that your TV also has an S-video output when u are sure of that go out and buy and S-video cable (i suggest get a higher quality one for the best picture) and connect the tv to your video card using the S-video cable
 
well I just did that and my tv doesn't show nothing maybe I should configure some settings I mean thats all just connect it its to simple like if I have a moviefile and I open it with winamp will I see it on my tv?
 
hmm i havnt done this yet to my comp but i will tell you probably and hopefully tomorow...there is some settings that you should probably have to configure i would use some google if i were u LOL
