Connect Smart TV?

My home network utilizes a Cisco DPC3625 gateway for wireless access, but two desktops are connected with cables. The gateway is in my home office at the west end of my house. I would like to add a smart TV at the opposite end of the house (about 75' away, thru multiple walls), but the current setup doesn't seem to extend to that location -- my phone, tablet, laptop, all fail to comnect there.

Relocating the gateway is possible, but undesireable. Could I add some sort of booster, or maybe a second router? Some other better option? I'm not very network-literate, but willing to try muddling thru!

Your best bet for ease-of-setup would be a 'range booster' where you place a device about half-way in between your TV and the router. These rebroadcast signals that they receive but generally don't perform that well.

Your best bet for performance would be using another AP or wireless router and wiring it over to the other side of the house. This would give you another wired access point and increase your coverage to that end.

Are you saying I could just connect another router to the existing gateway?

My internet service is a coax connection, and there are jacks in almost all rooms of the house -- my original gateway is connected to the jack in my office. Could I just connect another gateway to the existing coax at the other end of the house?

#1 yes #2 not really.

It'd be more along the lines of a copper ethernet run like cat5e/6 between each point. Then on router 2 you would:

-Configure a static LAN address within router 1's LAN subnet
-Disable DHCP on Router 2
-Configure the same wireless SSID and security settings
-Choose another wireless channel (1, 6 or 11 are non-overlapping choices)
-Connect devices using the LAN ports.

That would allow everyone to be on the same broadcast domain and you would be able to negotiate between APs yet be on the same network.
