is there any way i can connect to live through my pc. i can plug my 360 to the modem cause its in a different room. but, it is close to my pc. any way i can run the network from here to my xbox?

Your going to love Xbox Live, I have been a member for the past 5 years and I have been getting a lot of use out of it for the past 2 years thank to the Xbox 360. Only bad news is right now the network is down. This is the first time I ever remember this happening.
 
Do you mean that you want to use you PC to connect to the modem, and then have the 360 connect to the PC or something different, I'm still confused...
 
ok, i have my modem and my wireless router in one room and my computer(and 360/tv) in another.since i cant connect my 360 to the modem, i'd like to connect it to my pc to try and connect to the network. i have a router i could hook up to my computer, but its not compatible with xbox...so, yeah
 
I am pretty sure the link given to you above will accomplish that, I have done this before.

You need to enable your wireless internet connection to share it's connection with other devices.
 
Yup, just as he said, that should do it. I've been planning on doing it, but I haven't had much time for gaming recently so I haven't had a chance to actually do these steps...
 
when i try to enable sharing, it says that a LAN connection is already configured with the I{ address....this is my biggest problem right now.
 
While we are on the subject I have a somewhat related question. My friend wants to move his 360 into his living room to playing it on HDTV but like me he is a big Halo 3 fan and loves the Multiplayer. Problem is he doesn't want to spring for the Xbox wireless bridge. He has other wireless cards but they are USB and other than the Xbox wireless bridge only Ethernet connected wireless bridges will work.

So I told him to try and use the Windows ICS setup but use his laptop as the computer. I told him since its not directly wired to his modem it might not work, but since I am not an expert I don't know. He did it and its hard to tell but I think he has limited connectivity. Meaning the laptop detects the 360 and the 360 can detect the internet but he is having some DNS issues and the 360 can't detect the IP address.

So I thought his laptops firewall or router's security was blocking communications. So I told him to temporally open all his ports to see if that wiil work. It didn't, so my question is such a setup possible? If so what needs to be adjusted?
