Hi All,
A friend of mine is going wireless and we were wondering if the following setup would work, she's on cable broadband (NTL/Telewest UK)
Cable from outside connects to a modem she has already.
Modem connects to wireless router (we were looking at a Netgear RangeMax "G" range, cant use the new "N" as she wants to use her PSP and PDA through the router)
LAN cable goes from one of the 4 LAN ports in the wireless router direct to the Airport card in her Mac
PC in the next room connects via a USB wireless network adapter (like a WG111T which i use myself)
The main problem is she'd like to be able to print to one printer from both PC and the Mac. does this mean putting it on the network, and if so, can you connect a printer which only has a Serial and USB port to one of the LAN connections on the wireless router? is it simply a matter of buying a USB/Serial to LAN converter, or do i have to go down the route of wireless print servers, etc???
Thanks everybody, sorry im not too up on Networking but im working on it!
