Connecting front panel audio connectors

Hi,

I have Revoltec Zirconium case and Asus M3A79-T Deluxe motherboard. I'm trying to connect front panel connectors for headphones and microphone to the motherboard, but i don't know which connectors fits to the right pin on the motherboard. I also don't know which definition does my case support, but i would like to connect HD audio definition, if possible.

Here is HD audio and AC97 definition layout on my motherboard:

Port1L XX GND
Port1R XX Presence#
Port2R XX Sense1_Retur
Sense_Send XX (blank)
Port1L XX Sense2_Retur

Mic2 XX AGND
MicPwr XX NC
Line Out_R XX NC
NC XX (blank)
Line Out_L XX NC

Here is list of my case connectors:

MicVCC (supposed to go to MicPwr/Mic Power)
GND (supposed to go to Ground/Agnd)
Ear L (supposed to go to Aud_front_L)
Ear R (supposed to go to Aud_front_R)
Line L (supposed to go to Aud_ret_L)
Line R (supposed to go to Aud_ret_L)

Any help would be much appreciated.

I had similar confusions when I build my PC - but askin on this board - and checking my MOBO manual - found out that the board defaulted to HD audio. If your Case has HD audio - you should be able to plug the pin into the audio connector on your board and be good to go. Just line up the pins to match the holes on your board's harness.

FYI - My case was an Antec. If you have a major brand case and MOBO - I think it would connect just the same.

my motherboard is also set to HD audio by default, but the names of the case connectors don't match with the names of the pins on the motherboard, and that is why i don't know how to connect them. In the case's manual there is just an instruction to connect them like this

MicVCC (to MicPwr/Mic Power)
GND (to Ground/Agnd)
Ear L (to Aud_front_L)
Ear R (to Aud_front_R)
Line L (to Aud_ret_L)
Line R (to Aud_ret_R)

but there is no statement in the manual, whether the pins to be connected to are HD audio or AC97 defined, and also which pins actually are Aud_ret_R, Aud_ret_L, ... Because i couldn't find their names in the motherboard manual.

Does a "translation" of these names exist anywhere?
