First off thats your CPU ;)

Second, thermal paste is used to increase thermal conductivity between the CPU and heatsink, not motherboard. The CPU is atatched by the pins into the holes of the ZIF socket on the motherboard, and the stock heatsink comes with a thermal pad. I sugest you read the 101 on building computers.
 
would hate to see u use thermal paste to connect the cpu to the mobo, lol.

i'd use paste, but be sure u know how to apply
