So i did a factory reset on one of my desktop pc's and now it wont connect to internet, i cant do nothing on it, no updates for windows no drivers, nothing since i cant get it to connect to internet, the light in bottom right corner shows that it has connection, and when i type any address in and hit go, it opens the website up for a split half second before it says the internet explorer cannot open the webpage and its aborted.

using the diagnose button on my internet just says that it could not find any problems with it :(

internet works for all other devices in the house, only the one desktop (wired) cannot connect to it. any help??

You most likely need to install the ethernet driver or wireless driver depending on what type you are using. Is this a desktop or laptop? Using wireless or ethernet cable? Whats the make and model of pc? What operating system?

its a hp Pavilion Media Center TV m8100n Desktop PC running vista
its using a wired connection to my modem

fantastic, exactly what i was looking for, it worked, :)
only problem with it is for some reason internet connection is half what it is on other computer in the house, usually it is the same, but im sure its just because it doesnt have all the updated drivers and stuff like that, thank you

Half like, 10 mbps?
I'd check the sync speed from within network connections and adapter status.
