Connection problem

Need some help please. I recently deleted a trojan virus off my computer and haven't been able to sign on since. These are some actions I have done:
- reconfigurated protocol stack
- uninstall/reinstall modem
- uninstall/reinstall ISP
- used winsock
- and the basic check modem connections etc...

I am getting an error message after "talking to network" reads (i think step 4)
the error says "Connection Log" "Unable to connect to service"
Can anyone please help?
 
What steps did you take to reinstall windows? did you delete all the partitions and start again? Was it an OEM windows disk or an original?
 
If you navigate to the MMC (start, run, mmc) add the snap-in Disk Managment for the local machine and it will display your partition information...you may want to have a look in here to make sure that everything is healthy and you only have in their what you have created...
