connection sharing behind Router

hi guys, Im trying to set this dlink router up. I want to be able to share my nextg internet on a pc with the router connected to the pc as ethernet. I set up the 3g connection to be shared and i can connect to the wireless router but i cant get internet access. Ive tried fiddling with the ip addresses but no luck. The thing is my iphone can detect itunes through the wireless so its gotta be something with the 3g sharing. Xp automatically sets the ethernet port to 192.168.0.1 but i notice when i connect to the wireless it comes up as 10.0.0.1?

remove the usb cable, connect your broadband to the WAN port on your router, connect your pc to one of the LAN ports on the router, on your pc
make sure the PC is set to obtain an ip address automatically same for DNS
Open a command prompt do an ipconfig/release and renew.

Hi, thanks for replying. The modem is 3g and only has usb. There is no option to plug it in the router. I would have thought i could share the 3g connection using internet connection sharing so that anyone else connected to the router can use it.

Is your iPhone jailbroken? If it is, download the program called MyWi. It lets you create a WiFi hotspot right on your phone, and you don't have to mess with IP's and creating ad-hoc networks, or having a PC setup for dedicated ICS.
