Connection Type

I'm using ADSL but if I install a software program it wants to know my exact type of connection. How can I find out which one I got?

During installation I must choose: 56-k Modem (Down 56kBit/s-Up 56kBit/s), ISDN (64-64), DSL (256-128), DSL T-DSL 1000 (1024-128), Cable (187-32), T1 (1500-1500) ext, ext...

Well, what speed is your connection, 512Kbps?? 1Mbps?? 2Mbps?? Your selection on these types of installation wont be crucial, it will just attempt (usually poorly) to optimize the data transfers for your connection speed, Just choose the nearest one to your conenction....

I have just tested my speed and the results are:

1.2 megabits per second

Communications: 1.2 megabits per second
Storage: 147.1 kilobytes per second
1MB file download: 7 seconds
Subjective rating: Good

so I guess it's DSL (Down 1.2MB/Up 147.1KB)?

Hehe

Yeh most likely a 2mbit ADSL line (DSL)....or a 1Mbit (the speed is not entirely fixed at 1Mbit)
