ok heres the scoop in the coming months i plan to build a second computer that will run a amd chip this will be my first time having a amd chip. i would like to run a system that can run a x4 phenom one or 2 cpu with a ati graphics card one or two of them but i dont know which socket i should stay away from or which socket i should pick to have either the phenom one or 2 i am working with a 130 dollar part budget id like something under that im saying. as far as motherboard i see so many amd sockets but not sure which one is the socket i want to stick with i never had a ati card i just want to try something new for my next build but heres the thing i have ddr2 dual channel memory sitting around and its 1066 kind patriot viper II but heres the issue in my motherboard in my specs on here the epp ready part wouldnt work with the asus motherboard i have i was wondering if i build a amd computer with amd motherboard and so forth would i be able to use my useless at the moment patriot viper II ddr2 dual channel 1066 epp ram?
