Constant crashes and slower internet

About a week ago I tried installing zone alarm, but it crashed my computer twice. After those crashes I didn't touch my computer until the next day when I installed my new PSU and GPU (8600GT). Ever since then, my computer has constantly been crashing, always giving me this screen http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x9/Logon255/DSC02098.jpg

Its been a week since then and it continues to crash every couple of hours. Do you think zone alaram is still the reason why my computer is crashing or is it my newly installed 8600GT? Zone alarm never got fully installed and isn't on my system anymore (at least I think it isn't), but the first time seeing these crashes was when I was trying to install zone alarm. So I am unsure if the problem is because of that one day I tried installing zone alarm or if it was because of my 8600GT. I'm thinking the 8600GT is causing my crashes because I don't see any signs of zone alarm on my PC. If my 8600GT is causing the crashes, how can i fix it? Should I try reinstalling the GPU or should I try downloading new drivers from NVIDIA's website? Or could my 8600GT be defective? Overheating is not the problem

What slot is your GPU and what is your graphic slot on your mobo because if you just shoved it into the wrong slot then you would get the blue screen of death !

This link has tons of people with solutions to your problem hope it helps.
conclusion of that site: check all your software to see it dont conflict, update all your drivers, update your bios.

also its not zone alarm because no software can give the blue screen of death (a blue screen with a error message) i brb i be looking across the internet for your hardware and that error for you.

Edit: you wont need a new driver to fix that by the way :P

Mate. You Could not be more WRONG.

Software Can DEFINITLY Cause BSOD's.

Software Can Corrupt Entire Hard Drives.

Drivers CAN crash and BSOD your computer.

Judging by quick View of error, DRIVER_IRQ . . .. . . It Appears too be a driver Issue.

Proof is, I have had the problem with a Leadtek 6200 GPU. Until i updated drivers too latest drivers, My computer was BSOD'ing, Freezing, Beeping, Doing all sorts or Wierd Things.

Firstly, Update your Drivers Too the latest versions.

If that is no good.

Remove GPU, Blow off all dust, Re-seat.

Have you bumped your RAM recently?

i just updated my message lol refresh the page :p i went on a site i realised i would be making it all worse lol so the link i gave you is your chance to break free from jail.

Well I updated my 8600GT driver to the latest from NVIDIA's website. So far its doing well (It's only been an hour so it might still crash later). I put the 8600GT in my pci-e x16 so I know that isn't the problem. And no I did not bump my RAM up. It has been untouched since the day I bought it.

Heres a link to my motherboard:

Where can I download updates for my BIOS? I'm still little confused about things related to BIOS so I'm not sure.

Hello Zangetsu (bleach?)

I'm sure my PSU is strong enough. Its a 500W Ultra xfinity PSU. [12v1 16A] [12V2 18A] [384W / 12 = 32A] It was one of ceewi1's top picks (check the PSU section in this forum).

By the way jonny-chip, that link you gave me is for Windows XP pro, while I have Windows Visa Home Premium 32-bit. I'll still read what it says though.

Hi,

Yes it will. But it will also solve this problem. If you don't agree with this, then say so, so we could look for the right solution.

I would like to avoid reformatting my HDD, especially since i don't have a vista CD anymore. If its unavoidable (which i doubt) then i will reformat.

Hi,

The best way to figure out the problem, is to plug out some parts and test it. For example, you put out 1 RAM and test it, you put out the DVD/CD-roms etc...

well the only thing i changed was PSU and GPU, so im quite sure the GPU is the problem. 3 hours now and my computer is still running fine. I think it might be fixed. If it shows up again, ill leave a post.

I got the BSOD again... I got it while I was watching a video. This makes me even more sure that its the video card. I tried watching videos clips with both windows media player and divx player, and I got BSOD whiling watching. Before, I would get BSOD at random times, but now after I downloaded the newest drivers, it seems I only get BSOD while I'm trying to watch videos. Any ideas?

By the way, how do i update my BIOS?

It's a 8600, hav eyou ever heard of a non pci-express 8 series card? :P And if you shoved the graphics card in the wrong way you won't bet the BSOD cause the computer wouldn't boot and the card will be ruined....

you want me to reformat my HDD? Wouldn't that erase all my files?

Yes but you can also back up your files and reload them onto the computer again.

Does the BSOD say the same thing? The driver error? It could be the vista driver being stupid.

Hmm, Love the Expression

. . . Vista Driver Being Stupid

I don't think it will be a Bios Problem.

Hardware Related I would Think.

So Let me get this straight:

You have:

Updated GPU Drivers

Gone to Device Manager
- Checked too see all drivers are updated

Reseated GPU

All i believe you can do, Is Backup All you want.

And Poof. . .

Reformat. . .

Unless someone has a Miracle Fix. . .

I'm back from a trip. Yay. Anyways, I updated all my drivers and tried the above advice. Unfortunately I'm still receiving BSOD. If I reformatted my HDD would there be a 100% guarantee that it will fix my problem, or it just might fix it? Do you think system restore would be able to fix this problem?

Also could these constant crashes and BSOD's damage any of my hardware? Ever since these crashes occurred, more problems have been showing up, mainly slower internet. (I know my ISP or my modem/router is not the problem because my old PC and my new PC are connected to the same router and its only slow on my new computer. The wires are not the problem) I'm just wondering if these constant crashes are actually damaging something, causing things to run slower and stuff. Would system restore be able to fix this as well? My internet on the new computer does run fast sometimes (usually right after I reboot my computer) however at random times it slows down a lot for long periods of time.

I never touched my ram, so i don't see why it would be faulty. How do I check if it is faulty or not?

(please answer my previous questions if possible because i would really like to know)
