Alright, Well, my HD is constantly showing activity. Its a 40GB 5,400RPM notebook hard drive. Even When everything is closed(including firewalls, spware programs ect...) and all users except me are logged off, it shows activity. I checked for any viruses or spyware and i came up with nothing. This one is stumping me...

Any suggestions?

hmmm... i am going through my running procceses, and for soem reasons Autorun.exe is running and something by the name of E_FATI9FA.EXE
I think that might be some form of spyware or a virus.. im not sure yet though.

hmm... this is what i come up with for E_FATI9FA.EXE, it doesnt really tell me much, but killing it does nothing for my HD activity.. so that cannot be the root cause.

yes, but i terminated the process for its drivers and it did nothing, but i figured it out, the process NOPBD.EXE belongs to norton systemworks speed disk and for some reason was trying to set up defrag times..... i know it sounds wierd but something typical norton.

Get rid of that piece of garbage Norton and you will do wonders for your system. See if that doesn't solve your problem.
