Control Panel Crashes Desktop

The last few days,almost everytime I use the control panel for anything it locks up and quits responding. If/when I "End Task" my desktop icons,toolbar and cursor disapear and I have to reboot to get it everything back again. I ran a few diferent spyware programs,Hijack This,and Nod 32,nada. Defragged also. I'v got XP MCE and everythings been updated. Any ideas?

try some other spyware programs (i use Adaware, spybot search and destroy and AVG), also it can be worth while getting a proper firewall/anti-virus program eg. Vet or Norton..

I ran Adaware,Spybot plus 3-4 other spyware programs. Eset Nod 32 virus scan didn't turn anything up. I'm running Zonealarm + a router with numerous built in protection enabled. After posting I found a BIOS update I didn't know was available,flashed it + reloaded my vid card drivers and it hasn't happened since.
I'm guessing a file might have been corrupted in the drivers somehow.
Crossing my fingers.
