convert an xls to wks

I need to convert an excel worksheet to a wks.

I 've done all these in my pc, but xp windows or vista don't support any more
conversions like xls to wks.
So I've to do something in protocols or........
or to find an old version of windows.....like 1998 or....

It's not the OS. It's the program that runs the files. Microsoft works will run on vista so will office.

I don't use excel any more,
Make me crazy 3 times.

Looks like you'll need to buy a copy of Microsoft Works to use .wks files.
Works version 6 runs just fine on my XP SP3 system.
