Converting Hard Drive Space To Ram?Fact Or Fiction

It's called virtual memory :P You don't exactly get more physcial RAM, and it doesn't add it to your specs(seeing how much slower it actually is than physical RAM) but most computers do require it...

I'm currently running my laptop without virtual memory because I don't really need more than 512M for what I use it for. However, if you play games, many of them will require over a gig of total memory(I tried using my desktop without virtual mem and FEAR wouldn't run due to lack of memory)

Exactly, and you can also go the other way and use RAM as high performing hard drive space (albeit extremely expensive hard disk space).

Sweet :D I know they have CompactFlash to IDE converters. They aren't nearly that fast, I'm sure, but same idea. Oh yes, and not only would this be faster, but more reliable, as you probably know... Hmm...should I invest? ;P

Imagine a RAID with this stuff! Like 4 sets of them! Haha, that would be crazy...
