Converting laptop power supply to a molex

Does anyone know how to take an old laptop adapter and splice a Molex connector on the end and use it to power a hard drive?

t'is all about the power output from the old laptop charger, it would need to be 12v at a certain ampage (which I don't know) otherwise it would fry your HDD which is never fun.

The adapter has selectable volts and the hard drive says 12v 600ma which I know the adapter has. The only thing I'm not sure of is on the hd is says 5v 490ma right before the other power ratings.

Wouldnt the hard drive draw what it needs from an amps stand point?
