converting to dynamic disk

i want to use patishion magic to split my 2 500G HDDS in to a 100G , 400G and 2 250G.
then i want to use windows to do RAID0 to the 2 250G but i have to convert my disks to dynamic
what is dynamic?
what will it do when i convert them?
is there any advantages or disadvantiges to converting them

You understand that if you RAID the drives this way it will be software RAID and not using any RAID hardware your computer might have

ok then if i do it through my BIOS do i have 2 format or can i do it on a setup computer without loseing anythink
