Is there a program that will block cookies. Every time I go on line I have 20 to 22 cookies that show as a threat after a virus scan. I'd like to have a choice between those to block and those to allow. Is that possible?

You dont like cookies? Cookies are fine, although I guess some could be bad. Are you using Internet Explorer?

Anywayz, cookies are just little bits of information saved onto your computer that help you with information on the internet. Like when you log into an email account and it logs you straight in without requiring a password because its saved as a cookie. Most email places even have a "Remember my log in information on this computer" which just means, Id like a cookie for my login information.

Anywayz, if you dont want them, you can completly block them in internet explorer. Just go to..

Tools >>>> Internet Options >>>> Privacy Tab >>>> Advance Button >>>> Check "Override Automatic Cookie handling" >>>> And tell it to block first and third party cookies, that should get most of em.

With Firefox its very similar to stop them.
Tools >>>> Options >>>> Privacy Tab >>>> Cookies Tab >>>> Then you can either tell it to not accept cookies, or to delete them everytime you close firefox.

Hope this helped

i think cookies can also send back information about your computer etc... this information is then used to send viruses etc... (I THINK)
