Cooler Advice

Hey, I have the Intel i5 760, I keep getting a CPU overheat error on start up so decided it's time to purchase a new cooler but that's a first for me. Does anybody have any recommendations on low(ish) budget coolers compatible with my processor? Or could the error possibly be due to something else and a new cooler isn't needed? Not currently OC but intend to.

(Using a Sabertooth 55i Motherboard)

Any Help much appreciated :)

Have you removed the heat sink lately? If so did you clean off the old thermal paste and apply new before reattaching? Make sure heat sink is properly attached and not loose.

Welcome to CF,Nice to see another fellow England member. :)

But yeah,What john said and have you switched on the PC with the case open to see if the fan on the actual cpu cooler is running...the fan might have died although still it shouldn't over heat that quick.

If for some reason you do want a new cooler, and a good one at a decent price.

Thank you both, I had previously checked that the fan was working but looked again now and it isn't any more. Will most likely pick up the cooler you suggested Shane as it looks ideal and a good price. Yes there don't seem to be many Englishmen around!
