cooling for GPU

this is a bit of a noob question, but most or all HSF for videocards suck in right and not blow out, so for my video card and future one (8800 GTS) would it increase cooling if i put 1 x 80mm fan under the existing HSF blowing air in ?

The fans that draw cool air in, over the fins of the heatsink are the most effective. Using a fan that blew air out would be a serious mistake!

Yeah it wouldn't work properly if it sucked air out, ALL heatsink and fan assemblies has fans that flow INTO the fins of the heatsink.

ok hhaha that answerd my somewhat of a question but , if i put a the fan under the existing GPU fan, atleast 4 inches under it , would it draw more in for a more effiecent cooling method ?

Hmm. I've tried this before with house fans, trying to cool the house down faster in the summer (yeah, i know). It didn't really increase airflow all that much, and if it did it wasn't noticeable.

I suppose it could work if the outer fan is running faster than the inner one.. *skeptical smiley here*
