Cooling or Looks?

Rather have a good looking case or a bare case that cools extremely well?

Right then,

Would you rather have a horrible looking case with a CPU around 25c and board around 28.

Or

Have a Nice looking case but a hot case temp and drive, cpu and board?

The reason I ask is because I currently have my system here at 41c, cpu is 43c idle and hdd is 44c.

This is all because the case I have at the moment paired with my Tagan (Leads all over the place) cools horribly.

I am just looking for a push in the right direction as I cannot decide what to do, either have an open Jeantech apollo case, just the bare case itself with panels on, (cpu will be roughly 25c idle), or my current nice looking case, which is probably damaging all my components life length.

Thanks:)

Why don't you buy better fans and heatsinks for your current case? This way you'll have nice looks AND good cooling.

I've tryed that:(

Currently have 3 120mm's and 2 80mm's in there, but for some reason they just don't really seem to have much affect:confused:

Its probably because I have one of the hottest pumps you can buy.

But I have no cash to buy new stuff right now.

I think you'll be better off selling the wc and buying a good aircooling system if your system temps are that high..

Yeah, I know I will, But I don't really like the excess noise that I will have with a CPU Cooler, Since I got watercooling I could change some of the fans around that I have which has helped me dramatically reduce noise levels.

Another reason why I can't really sell this kit is because I only bought the thing 2 months ago.

If I had had the kit say 9 months it would probably be my preferred option but cos I haven't had it too long I don't really feel that I can sell it that quick.

I use air-cooling.
My CPU idles at 2C above room temperature.
The rear of the case is FACING me, and DAMN, it's quiet.

What does it mean? Get DECENT 120mm fans, and screw them on tightly. Do that, and it won't be loud at all.

Well if you can't change things much, just stick with this case and maybe get some better fans on the radiator, unless you're planning to keep your computer for a very long time...it won't be worth getting a brand new case to lower the temp by like 8 degrees.

another important thing to remember is that it's not only about fans and water cooling, it's also about your cable arrangment and case. If your cables are blocking the airflow of your fan(s) then no matter how much fans youe get...it will not change much...and if your case is some cheap box it wont allow much or if any at all airflow through out your comp...my case temp inside is always at a steady 27c eventho i have a crap load of lights and cables

I prefer looks mainly but I also go for cooling. I'll be sure to buy cooling that looks great and performs great as well. Something like the Zalman's CNPS9500 LED CPU cooler.

neither for me...

Bondo, paint and a dremel can fix any looks and cooling issues.....

but its deffo worth going for a good HSF and some good named Fans.

that is soo true :) sure.. the lifespan of components gets shorter when they are running on higher temperatures.. but who cares? the components will be outdated and replaced because of that long before they fail.
i wouldnt worry about it.. as long as you dont have problems,.. dont change it. "If it ain't broke, dont fix it'' :)
