cooling pads worth it ?

I wouldn't think so, kind of a waste of money. If it's really getting too hot, prop it up somewhere so the fans can get more circulation.

thats kind of the point of Cooling Pads, they give you somewhere to put your laptop so that it will be well ventilated etc... they don't cost too much and i think, unless i am mistaken, that people on this forum would recommend having one.

True. But you could save 30 bucks and even make one yourself, or just prop it up. Pretty much same result. It's his choice and all, but do you really need to spend $30? It all depends on if your laptop is really that hot and actually needs cooling.

Most pads pull air from the bottom of the laptop. Most laptops suck air up from the bottom. Get the fans too close and they just cancel each other out...

Now if there are no fans near the pad's fans, or just a fanless system, you might be fine...

well wht if the fans on the computer are just barely weaker? does it help then?

if you're gettin overheating problems then buy a cooling pad obviously, if you notice the bottom of the laptop getting so warm u cant touch it for more than 2 seconds buy a cooling pad, if none of the above save your money.
